How does a doubles ladder work?

The pair is the ranked entity, not the player. A pair holds one rung, challenges as a unit, and takes the result as a unit. Everything that applies to a singles player applies to the pair: one rung, one point total, one tiebreak record. That is the version that ships here. How the format works.
