Tennis ladders in Pattaya

The Pattaya singles ladder on Deuce is open, and it is free to join. You pick who you play, and the two of you pick the court. Every court we could source belongs to a hotel or a club. Siam Bayshore rents its six courts to the public at 350 baht an hour. Fitz Club at the Royal Cliff has seven floodlit hard courts that outside players can book. The rain peaks in September and October.

Ten players is enough to start a ladder. Below that we would rather tell you so than launch something that dies in three weeks.

Where you would play

We found no city tennis center in Pattaya. The courts sit at hotels and sports clubs along the coast, from Naklua in the north to Na Chom Thian in the south. Three of them rent courts by the hour to people who aren't staying there; the rest keep them for guests or don't say.

"Not stated" means the operator's own page doesn't say. Only Royal Cliff names a surface, and only Royal Cliff and Dusit Thani mention lights. We checked every row against the hotel's or club's own page on October 7, 2026.

In practice: by day, Siam Bayshore is the cheapest hour on the list. After 6 p.m., your choices are the lit courts at Fitz Club and Dusit Thani.

Courts you can book without a room

Siam Bayshore Resort, at 559 Moo 10 near Walking Street, says its six courts are open to the public every day from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. It mentions no lights, so plan on daylight. A court costs 350 baht an hour, which is 175 baht each for a singles pair. Rackets rent for 150 baht an hour. If rain stops play within 15 minutes you pay nothing, and within 30 minutes you pay half. Book through the front desk on +66 (0)38 428 679.

Fitz Club is the sports club on the Royal Cliff grounds at 353 Phra Tamnuk Road. Its seven floodlit hard courts are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. On its January 2026 price list, outside guests pay by the player, not the court: 350 baht an hour each from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., 400 baht in the early morning and late afternoon, and 500 baht from 6 p.m. A singles hour at midday costs 700 baht for the pair. Rain in the first 15 minutes means no charge. Call the club on +66 38 250421, extension 2621.

Dusit Thani Pattaya, at 240/2 Pattaya Beach Road, rents its three courts to day visitors at 1,000 baht an hour for two players, and floodlights add 350 baht an hour from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A booking is one hour, which the hotel may extend on the day if a court is free. It repeats the one-hour limit for its high season, October to February.

Hotel courts for guests

Three more hotels have tennis courts, by their own account, and none of them publishes court time for outsiders. Ambassador City Jomtien, on Sukhumvit Road in Na Chom Thian, says its guests have exclusive access to its courts. Centara Grand Mirage in Naklua and the Asia Pattaya Hotel on Pratamnak Road list tennis courts among their facilities and stop there. If you're staying at one of them, ask the front desk before you set a ladder match there.

Public and condominium courts

We found no Pattaya City page that lists a public tennis court, so this table has none. If your condominium has a court, the building's rules decide whether you can bring a guest. Check them before you offer it for a ladder match.

Playing in Bangkok too? Its courts and ladder are on the Bangkok page.

When you can play

You can play in any month here. Rain and heat decide how easy it is. The figures below are the Thai Meteorological Department's 1991 to 2020 normals for its Phatthaya station, inside the city.

Months Normal high Normal low Rainy days a month What it means for a match
December to February 86 to 88°F (30.2 to 31.2°C) 74 to 76°F (23.3 to 24.5°C) 2 to 3 Driest and coolest. Prime season
March to May 90 to 91°F (32.0 to 33.0°C) 78 to 80°F (25.5 to 26.6°C) 5 to 11 Hottest. Play early or under lights
June to August 89 to 90°F (31.4 to 32.0°C) 79 to 80°F (26.1 to 26.4°C) About 13 Rain most weeks
September and October 88°F (30.9 to 31.1°C) 76 to 78°F (24.7 to 25.4°C) 16 to 17 Wettest. Keep a backup date
November 87°F (30.8°C) 76°F (24.3°C) About 6 The rain eases

October is the wettest month, with about 8.8 inches (224.5 mm) of rain over 17 rainy days, and September is close behind. December is the driest, with under half an inch. April is the hottest, with a normal high of 91°F (33.0°C). December, the coolest month, still has a normal low of 74°F (23.3°C). Thunderstorms are most frequent in October, at about nine days in the month.

Even October has 17 rainy days, not 31, so a match that gets washed out can usually be replayed inside the 30-day play window.

How a ladder works here

Nothing in the rules changes for Pattaya. What changes is how you get onto a court: you rent it by the hour from a hotel or a club, and the three that take outside players all shut by 8 p.m.

The Pattaya ladder records best of three tiebreak sets, the platform default. That can run past an hour, so book two hours where you can. At Siam Bayshore two hours cost 700 baht for the court. At Fitz Club, two midday hours cost a singles pair 1,400 baht. Dusit Thani books one hour at a time and adds more only if a court is free on the day. From March to May, start early: April's normal high is 91°F.

The challenger books the court unless you agree otherwise. When you accept, agree on the venue and the time, and on who pays. At Fitz Club each player pays, so that part is already settled.

The mechanics

Here are the defaults. An organizer may change the challenge range, the two windows and the rematch cooldown. The first challenge, the absence rule and the inactivity schedule are fixed. Ladder regulars can go straight to the absence note under the table.

Rule Default
Challenge range Five rungs up. Rung 6 may challenge rung 1
Response window 5 days
Play window 30 days from acceptance
First challenge One unrestricted challenge inside your own level band. Always on
Rematch cooldown 14 days. Playing someone else does not shorten it
Absence Up to 21 days. You keep your rung and cannot be challenged
Inactivity Points decay every 30 days without a played match. Your rung is released at 180 days and you are withdrawn at 365

If you leave Pattaya for weeks or months at a time, use the absence rules. A trip of up to 21 days is a standard absence: you switch it on yourself, keep your rung and can't be challenged. Longer than that, ask for an extended absence. It runs up to six months, renewable every 90 days, needs a written reason and your organizer's approval, and pauses the expiry of your points too. The full ruleset is on the rules page, and scoring covers how a result gets confirmed. New to the terms? See the glossary.

Levels and where you start

Thailand has no amateur rating that adult club players share. The Lawn Tennis Association of Thailand (LTAT) publishes weekly national rankings, but they cover juniors from under 8 to under 18 and men's professional lists. Players in Pattaya come with whatever their home country uses: NTRP, UTR, an LTA rating, a federation ranking or none at all.

Bring whichever one you have to Deuce, or bring nothing. Without a rating, you tell us how you play and we pick your starting rung. Placement follows two rules.

  1. Unsure means higher. Somewhere between a 3.5 and a 4.0? You start as a 4.0. Someone placed too low beats players they shouldn't be facing, and everyone below them loses ground.
  2. Your first match fixes it. Your first challenge can go to anyone in your level band, so a wrong placement lasts one match.

To compare NTRP, UTR and WTN, use the rating conversion table. What each NTRP level looks like in a match is on the NTRP rating chart.

How competitive tennis is organized in Pattaya

Organized tennis in Pattaya, as its organizers publish it, means tournaments, most of them at Fitz Club and Greta Sport Club. None of the hotels or clubs in the table above publishes a ladder or a standing ranking. Each item below comes from its organizer's own page, as of October 7, 2026.

Juniors have the fullest calendar. The LTAT calendar for 2026 lists graded junior events at Greta Sport Club in Chon Buri province through the year and two at Royal Cliff: the AssetWise Junior Championship in May and the Royal Cliff Hotels Group Juniors Championship on October 31 and November 1. Royal Cliff says its junior players earn points toward their national ranking.

The adult events on this page are both at Fitz Club. The club's own singles tournament reached its 18th edition on March 6 to 8, 2026, with entry capped at 20 players. The MT700 ITF Fitz Club Tennis Masters Championship, for players 35 and over in singles, doubles and mixed doubles, held its 8th edition in November 2025.

The Pattaya Open, as history. The WTA's records list 24 editions of a women's event in Pattaya between 1991 and 2015, the PTT Pattaya Open among its names. The last, the PTT Thailand Open, ran February 9 to 15, 2015, on hard courts. Daniela Hantuchova won three of the last five, in 2011, 2012 and 2015.

Those events come a few times a year. A ladder needs no draw and no entry date, so it keeps running in the weeks between. Send a challenge whenever you like. Your opponent gets 5 days to reply, and once it's accepted you both have 30 days to play. The deadlines keep a challenge moving, but the two of you still have to find a court and play.

A ladder won't suit every player. If you want a weekend draw with a trophy at the end, enter the Fitz Club tournament. If you'd rather have a club arrange your games, Fitz Club says it can set up friendly matches between members. Junior players chasing national points belong in LTAT events.

Questions

Is there a tennis ladder in Pattaya?

Yes. Deuce runs the Pattaya singles ladder, open-ended and free to join. You challenge players up to five rungs above you and arrange the court together. None of the clubs or hotels on this page publishes a ladder of its own. Fitz Club runs tournaments and can set up friendly matches for its members.

How much does a tennis court cost in Pattaya?

Per player, for an hour of singles: about 175 baht at Siam Bayshore, where the court is 350 baht. Fitz Club charges outside guests 350 to 500 baht each, depending on the hour. Dusit Thani charges day visitors 1,000 baht for two, so 500 each, plus 350 baht for floodlights after 6 p.m.

Are there public tennis courts in Pattaya?

We found none. No Pattaya City page we could open lists a public tennis court, and every court on this page belongs to a hotel or a club. The closest thing to public is Siam Bayshore, which says its six courts are open to the public every day from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Can I book a hotel tennis court if I'm not a guest?

At some hotels. Dusit Thani Pattaya rents to day visitors, Siam Bayshore to the public, and Fitz Club at the Royal Cliff to outside guests. Ambassador City Jomtien says its courts are for its guests. Centara Grand Mirage and Asia Pattaya don't say, so ask before you plan a match there.

Is there a tennis club in Pattaya I can join?

Fitz Club at the Royal Cliff sells memberships to people who aren't staying at the hotel. Its January 2026 member price list gives members two free hours of court time a day before 6 p.m., cut to one morning hour and one afternoon hour in busy months. Its day pass doesn't cover tennis.

Are there indoor tennis courts in Pattaya?

None of the operators on this page publishes an indoor or covered tennis court. Fitz Club's indoor, air-conditioned courts are for squash. In the rainy months, play early, keep a second court in mind and use the play window to move a match that gets rained out.

When is the rainy season in Pattaya?

Roughly May to October. At the Thai Meteorological Department's Pattaya station, May averages 11 rainy days, and the peak months, September and October, average 16 to 17 each. December to February is the driest stretch, with two or three rainy days a month. Siam Bayshore and Fitz Club waive the fee if rain stops play in the first 15 minutes.

Where can I take tennis lessons in Pattaya?

Fitz Club offers private and group coaching with ITF and ATP instructors. Dusit Thani Pattaya has a knocker service at 1,000 baht an hour for players who want someone to hit with. Deuce doesn't coach. What a ladder gives you is regular matches against players near your level.

Was there a WTA tournament in Pattaya?

Yes, 24 times. The WTA lists a women's event in Pattaya from the Volvo Women's Open in April 1991 to the PTT Thailand Open in February 2015, which was the last edition and was played on hard courts. For senior players, Fitz Club held the 8th edition of its MT700 ITF Masters, for ages 35 and over, in November 2025.

How is a ladder different from a league?

In a league, someone else fixes who you play and when. On a ladder you hold a rung and pick your own opponent within range, then agree a time inside the response and play windows. The standings move after every played match, not at the end of a season. How it works has the details.

What does it cost to join?

Nothing. Deuce Ladder is free for players right now. The court is a separate bill, paid to the hotel or club. Deuce doesn't book or sell court time. Other open ladders are on Discover, and the players page lists what you get.

How do I start a ladder in Pattaya?

Apply as an organizer. You need ten players you can name: a condominium with its own court, the regulars at a hotel court, a group that already plays together or a workplace. Deuce reviews every application before the ladder opens. The steps are below and on the organizers page.

Start a ladder in Pattaya

The city ladder takes singles players from anywhere in Pattaya and Jomtien. A ladder of your own makes sense when a group already shares a court, such as the residents of one condominium or the people who book the same hotel court every week.

Applying takes about five minutes and ten questions. A person at Deuce reads it and only writes back if something needs clearing up. Approval switches the ladder on, and your players can join and send challenges the same day.

You need ten players you can name. Aim for twelve or more. With fewer, the same few people end up playing each other over and over. If you have under ten, apply anyway and we'll tell you whether the group is big enough.

Already keeping a list on paper or in a group chat? There's no import. Invite everyone once the ladder is approved, and the unrestricted first challenge each player gets will sort the order.
